CFC Local is the focused effort of Christ Fellowship Church to engage with and serve hurting people that God has placed around us in the Birmingham area. We believe God has called us to make disciples in and around our city (Matt. 28:18-20) and to do good to everyone (Gal. 6:10). To that end, we have forged partnerships with several local organizations that we believe remain faithful to God’s Word and meet the needs of our community:
Alabama Baptist Children’s Home
Alabama Baptist Children’s Homes & Family Ministries (ABCH) has been protecting, nurturing, and restoring children and their families since the late 1800’s. Our involvement with ABCH includes volunteering at their annual summer camp at Shocco Springs, sponsoring their annual Party in the Parks event, and providing Christmas gifts for several foster children each year. Additionally, several members at CFC have gone through ABCH’s foster care training with hopes of receiving a foster care placement.
Brother Bryan Mission
Brother Bryan Mission serves the economically, emotionally, and spiritually impoverished men of the Birmingham area. Members of CFC have been preaching at the mission on Monday nights for several years. In addition, there are always opportunities around the holidays to provide meals for the men.
International Student Ministry
The English Language Learner Institute (ELLI) provides international students at Samford University training in the English language to prepare them for future academic and vocational success. Members of our church have participated in the Friendship Partner program and we often host cultural events in the hopes of improving the student’s English speaking skills. Ultimately, we are seeking to develop a friendship that would eventually lead to sharing the gospel.
Lifeline Children's Services
Lifeline exists to equip the Body of Christ to manifest the gospel to vulnerable children through adoption, foster care, and care for the unadopted. CFC participates in their annual kids camp program, and we have several families who have pursued adoption through their organization.
Restoration Academy is a private Christian school in Fairfield, Alabama, that aims to provide Christ-centered education while simultaneously advancing the two greatest commandments: loving God with all of your heart, soul, mind, and strength; and loving others as ourselves. Opportunities to get involved at Restoration are plentiful, ranging from mentorship and tutoring to teaching a Bible lesson to spending time with the Restoration Academy Outdoors Club.
Sav-A-Life is a comprehensive pregnancy care ministry that offers free and confidential services in a loving environment to women, men, and families facing unplanned pregnancies.
