College Ministry

As the college ministry of Christ Fellowship Church, our primary goal is to glorify God by making disciples of college students and supporting the ministry of our local church. There are three primary ways we would encourage you as a college student to get plugged in:

1. Involvement in the Local Church: While this may sound simple, we believe involvement in a local church is critically important for growth in Christ-likeness for men and women of all ages. The local church is where you are a part of the living, breathing body of Christ (Eph. 1:22-23; Col. 1:18) and his beloved bride (Rev. 19:7-9). It is where we worship with the fellowship of saints, hear the word preached, and see the ordinances (baptism and the Lord's Supper) practiced. When a local church lives as a true, sacrificial community it serves as a sign to the world of a future kingdom that is to come, a picture of the great grace the gospel offers us.

2. Involvement in Growth Groups: Although not mandated in Scripture, involvement in a small group setting can be an effective help in growing more into the image of Christ. We believe that the most effective discipleship happens in the midst of relationships with other people. At Christ Fellowship Church, our growth groups meet in homes and are comprised of men and women of all ages. These relationships provide rich friendships, deep discussions, and opportunities to learn from other Christian disciples. For more information on growth groups, head here.

3. Occasional College Events: The above two are of primary importance, but we also believe it is important to know other college students in Birmingham so that you can encourage each other, pray for one another, and spur one another on to growth in godliness. To that end, we plan on having some sort of college event every month. Whether it is a cookout at someone's house, a fun night bowling, or a discussion panel about a key issue, this is a great opportunity to meet others and find community while on campus. For more information on these events, keep a lookout on our Events page or email Ryan Adams.

We want to be a place where you are equipped as a student to make disciples on your campus and in our city. If you have questions or just want some more information, email Ryan Adams.
